Temple of Ubasti Membership Agreement
The Temple of Ubasti (also “The Temple”) uses this agreement as a legally binding contract upheld upon the payment of a Membership Fee.
1. The Temple’s Accordance
- The Temple welcomes all genders.
- The Temple of Ubasti exonerates women, and designates the Temple Grounds as a women-only space, with exception to honored guests.
- The Temple Grounds is a quasi-public residential property sacred to the Temple.
2. Membership Acknowledgment
- Members may not disclose the location of Temple Grounds.
- Members conserve the intellectual property of the Temple of Ubasti unless given permission by the Temple.
- Members conserve the emotional property of members unless given permission by member.
- Members conserve identities and correspondence of members unless given permission by member.
- The Temple may modify its structure, schedules, and sessions at its discretion.
3. Membership Fees & Refund Policy
- “Active members” are those that have paid the membership fee and account is in good-standing.
- “Members” are all members with an account that is in active, inactive, suspended, or terminated state.
- Membership fees are fully refundable within the first 14 days, minus a $20 registration fee, which is non-refundable.
- After the 14-day period, refunds are not guaranteed.
4. Member Responsibilities
- Avoid any purposeful harm to property belonging to the Temple and members.
- Uphold the privacy and intellectual property of the Temple and members.
- Practice open-mindedness, grace, mercy, reconciliation, temperament, compassion, kindness with members and staff.
- Prep for conversations that are diverse, conforming, non-conforming, and everything inbetween.
- Normalize to silently exit group discourse.
- Ask for help.
- Use discretion to keep group peace.
- Call for a vote to time-out the Temple Session.
- Speak authentically with current personally held opinion, belief, idea, thought, if wishing to speak.
- Be weary of rumbling on, droning, redundant.
- Seek reconciliation through a progressive plan or strategy with an executive member before pursuing legal remedies. Email concerns to courtney@templeofubasti.org.
5. Suspension & Termination Policy
- Membership status may be suspended immediately at the discretion of any Board Member, or Chair.
- Suspensions will undergo internal review and respond in 5–10 business days.
- Executive Leadership will suggest actionable steps towards reconciliation.
- A suspended/terminated member must vacate the premises immediately and refrain from attending events, using club amenities, and using Member Portal nefariously.
- Member will not receive a refund for the current month.
- Suspension may last indefinitely.
Grounds for Suspension
Suspension may result from one or more infractions of the following:
- Smoking, drinking or engaging in illicit behavior on property.
- Any violent acts or threatening behavior.
- Non-consensual behavior or harassment.
- Defamation of the the Temple or members.
- Retaliation inside or outside the Temple resulting in a punishment of another member.
- Cussing in extremely negative or malicious manner.
- In case of two or more members unable to reconcile or maintain peace, all members involved shall be suspended.
- Evidence for transgression is not needed to prove valid suspension if an executive leadership member deems an offensive infraction.
Temple Session
- At least one Facilitator is present.
- Women-only unless honored guest or guests.
- Topic is emailed to all active members prior or day of, the Temple Session.
- May be canceled within an hour of the event- email shall be sent out to attendees.
- Attendees are permitted to silently exit and rejoin group discourse at any moment.
- All relevant opinions, ideas, thoughts are acknowledged and encouraged.
- Time-out is a 10-30 minute period of time where the session is paused temporarily, separate from Intermission.
- Intermission is a regular break from discourse to engage in an activity, presentation, which can be abstained from so long as the attendee does not disrupt other attendees.
Facilitator Responsibilities
Facilitators are the designated person in charge of a Temple Session and their main responsibility is to provide information and keep group discourse relevant and elegant.
- Comments by the Facilitator does not necessarily reflect their opinion.
- Shall act in accordance to expanding mindset, empathy, perspective, elegance, vulnerability, safety, growth.
- May call time-out at their discretion.
Events
Events refers to the annual Winter Solstice Party and quarterly events held at various locations.
- Always co-ed
- Winter Solstice Party is to celebrate the longest night of the year.
- Quarterly events to practice empathetic discourse with active members.
